Dave Balmat is the  founder of BMSAR, as well as our K-9 Training Director.  He has well over a decade of experience working as a full time Professional dog trainer and has successfully assisted several SAR canine handlers in training and certifying their area search dogs.  Dave is dedicated to ensuring that BMSAR has the most effective and highly trained SAR dogs.

His partner "Lucas" has been training for SAR since he was 8 weeks old and was certified as a NASAR K-9 SARTECH III at the age of only 11 months and is also certified DCNR K-9 Air Scent Specialist,CGC as well as training for cadaver and water searches.

LUCINDA

       Storm Vogel's Lucinda C Joy  born in Ammerstol Holland on January 7th 2006, Arrived in the states March 5th 2006. Lucinda is a Belgian Malinois that will be crossed trained in many aspects of search and rescue as well as detection work.

BERGEN

       Brad Alleger is a highly motivated team member of BMSAR. Brad brings may things to this team and the latest addition is his new dog "Bergen". The dog was given to Brad by a Police K-9 handler from Hazelton , PA  in the hopes of continuing this young dogs education as a true working dog and supporting our efforts in the SAR field. Bergen is a 7 month old GSD and comes from exceptional working stock via Netherlands and Germany. At a young age Bergen excelled in the detection game and has great foundation work. Brad plans to have Bergen certified as an area search dog through both DCNR and NASAR by late fall of 2006. He is also working on HRD and expects to certify Bergen at 2 years of age in that field

 ROMMEL

         Bill Felker is a Team Member of BMSAR who brings with him 12 years of field experience in the military as a Scout. Bill had a feeling that he and his dog may need to find a venue to work in the outdoors and hopefully assist those in need. His Dog Rommel vom Teamgiest is a 15 month Old German shepherd coming from proven working lines. To say Rommel is a ball of energy is an understatement! Bill has been working Rommel in air scenting and major obedience for some time now, and seems to be making great progress. Although his dear wife Sandy may disagree from time to time we feel they both will make a great K-9/ handler team. Rommel has passed his AKC good citizenship test and loves to meet everyone he comes in contact with. He has an extremely high drive and loves to please. We expect Bill and Rommel to certify with DCNR and NASAR Canine SARTECH II Winter of 2006

SAGE

           Julie Landis with her dog Sage are our newest K-9 team in the training of Sage in air scent.

Julie plans to have Sage certified as an area search dog through both DCNR and NASAR by late fall of 2008.
